How did you first find out about Frame of Mind Coaching™?

Through my husband. My husband was at a TEC meeting with Kim Ades, and Kim was working her magic as usual and Jonathan starting coaching with her almost immediately after. I saw the effects that it was having on him throughout all aspects of his life, and when he was about halfway through he told me I absolutely needed to do it. I thought to myself that I had no reason to, that I had nothing to journal about, but Johnathan finally managed to persuade me to have a call with Kim. I had my call with her and, once again, she worked her magic and said to me what I needed to hear.

What was the best part about having Chari as a coach?

She did an amazing job helping me find who I wanted to be as a mom. My son has epilepsy and sensory processing disorder. When my daughter was born I found life to be quite easy; she was always ahead in her development and I had no worries. Then I had my son and from when my son was born, my motherly intuition was telling me that something was not right. I’m also a social worker by trade, so I kept fighting and fighting but it felt like I couldn’t get help with my son. When he was three years old, he had his first seizure and we almost lost him. It was a 25-minute seizure and the doctor used about three different doses to try to help stop the seizure and they couldn’t do it. It was really scary to hear the doctor say they don’t know whether your son is going to be okay. It was really difficult for a long time not knowing how to parent him and blaming myself for not knowing how. Chari took a really big load off my shoulders in helping me understand that I just need to be a loving mother. That was a huge thing for me to overcome.

How has FOM Coaching impacted your life?

The biggest impact for me is that I’m becoming a FOM Coach myself. I want to help others have that sense of relief the way that I did.

What inspired you to take that next step?

I think that anyone can be a coach, but there are certain things that you can’t teach a coach and one of the things that I have is incredible intuition. For the longest time, I saw my intuition as a curse but now I see it as a gift because it gives me the ability to help others.

Would you recommend FOM Coaching for others?

Absolutely, yes. The difference between FOM Coaching and any other types of coaching is that the accountability system the others use gives you boundaries and it doesn’t look beyond the beliefs that might be holding you back. With FOM, it gives you a really deep understanding of yourself.

Both you and your husband have gone through FOM Coaching. How has that impacted your relationship?

I would say that our relationship has always been amazing, but we’re so much better at communicating and understanding each other’s needs and wants now. When I met Kim I asked her why she doesn’t do couples counseling, and she said to me it doesn’t always take two to dance. She said if you’re two-stepping, the other person will just follow along. But if both partners are learning to dance separately and then putting it together, it’s like ballroom dancing. So I would say that Johnathan and I are now ballroom dancing, and we’re pretty darn good at it.
