How did you find out about Frame of Mind Coaching™?
I'm on the board of EO Winnipeg, and Kim came to us hoping to speak for our chapter. That was my introduction to her and her company, Frame of Mind Coaching. The more we looked into having Kim speak, the more intrigued I became.
I would describe our initial conversation as "different." I've used a variety of coaching programs, and there was something about Kim's approach and inquisitiveness that struck a chord with me. She said, "we're really not here to coach your business, we're here to coach you because you're the foundation of your business. If you are operating well, then everything thing else operates well - your family, your business, etc." That really resonated with me.
What were you struggling with prior to coaching?
I had a lot of questions around purpose and finding myself. I was unsure about where I wanted to go with my business. I didn't know how to move to the next step and had a lot of self-doubt, and it was holding me back.
How did coaching impact that?
Coaching was transformational for me. It shone a lot of light on the thinking patterns that were holding me back. I used to tell myself, "this is just the way I am" or "this is how I was raised." Coaching helped me realize that I have more control over my thinking than that.
The biggest thing for me was learning that I can choose how I perceive things and I catch myself when I perceive things in ways that are harmful. In the past, things that may have taken me a while to cope with I can now deal with much more quickly. My confidence has shot up exponentially.
How has coaching impacted your relationships?
In the middle of coaching, I felt like I needed to fix people. Even though I wasn't a coach, I wanted to impart my knowledge. As I went through the program, I learned that I had to focus on my own thinking. This process has allowed me to form deeper and more stable connections.
How would you describe Dave as a coach?
To use a Dave-ism, "f*cking awesome." Dave has a bit of an edge, but he's so present, supportive and open. He was very cognizant of where I was at, and was a great guide.
Would you recommend FOM Coaching to others?
Absolutely. The value is infinite and continues to play a major role in my life. Even if you think you know everything about yourself, you will discover hidden beliefs that are holding you back.
Why did you decide to attend FOM Methods?
I experienced very rapid and profound growth from being coached, and I wanted to be able to share that with others. I have a background in education, and I like to help people grow and develop. I also wanted to grow more myself through teaching this methodology.
What was your biggest takeaway from FOM Methods?
FOM Methods gave me a really clear path to coaching others. Kim has created something that has so much impact, and it was great to see how the coaching program flows week after week. It's not like other coaching programs. It's really intense and in-depth.
