The Super Strong Alisa Smith
Alisa Smith is driven and passionate and constantly wants to challenge herself. After completing her MBA (while working full time and taking care of her daughter), Alisa found that she was bored. She had extra time on her hands and wanted to not only help other women but also to find her own voice. She decided to start a podcast called The Beehive Product Launch Show.
This podcast involved interviewing inspiring female entrepreneurs from around the world. For her 34th episode, Alisa interviewed Kim Ades, the President and Founder of Frame of Mind Coaching™. During the recording, Alisa immediately felt a shift. Instead of asking all the usual questions of her guest, Kim started to ask HER questions. After the interview, Alisa felt different; she couldn’t stop thinking about Kim and her questions. One question that really stuck with her was, “What do you want and is your approach getting you there?”
Shortly after the episode recording, Alisa reached out to Kim and the Frame of Mind Coaching™ Team. Alisa was matched with FOM-Certified coach Becca Woodring Buttermore. Alisa was very happy about her results after coaching with Becca. She said, “Becca was AMAZING,” she says. “I cannot say enough how amazing she is.”
Becca helped Alisa figure out what she really wanted in life, she helped her gain clarity on her beliefs and how those beliefs held her in place, and she helped Alisa learn how to trade up those beliefs. Alisa also learned how to handle situations without being emotionally tied to the outcomes. But best of all, Becca helped Alisa find her voice. By the time they were done, Becca taught Alisa to shout; to be heard across the country.
During her coaching, Alisa just kept getting stronger. She no longer tolerated people who tried to take advantage of her kindness. She was better able to voice her opinions and she stood up taller for her beliefs. As Alisa built up her strength, those around her started to notice. People came up to her to comment on how strong she was. After coaching, Alisa literally felt lighter. She learned that she doesn’t always have to achieve, that she could be happy where she was, and that she could allow herself to take a break and relax once in a while.

While most of the other coaching that Alisa had experienced was helpful at the time, it was very transactional; it was immediate and action-oriented. The difference with Frame of Mind Coaching™ is that it’s holistic. The team looks at your thinking and not your actions, because the results you get are always a function of how you think, not how you act. For Alisa, Frame of Mind Coaching™ made a long-term, sustainable change. What’s more, is that Becca, her coach, was genuinely there for her, supporting her through her journey and even beyond. It’s been two years since Alisa’s coaching ended, and Alisa and Becca still talk.
“Frame of Mind Coaching™ helped me leverage all my challenging situations and turn them into opportunities to learn and explore.” says Alisa. “I’ve learned how to hold onto my personal power.” Alisa now puts more energy into the change instead of the struggle. She learned that she cannot control her surroundings, but she can control the way she reacts to them.
With everything she has learned, Alisa took the FOM Methodology and ran with it. She has connected many others on her team at work with Frame of Mind Coaching™. This increased her team’s emotional resilience and gave them a common language with which to communicate. Alisa dramatically improved her team’s performance and gave them the tools they needed to succeed. Alisa has since made the decision to leave her company and start a new position elsewhere. With Becca’s help, she was able to leave without guilt, secure in the knowledge that that she provided her team with everything they would need to succeed in her absence.
